Ski Area Planai

Height: 745m – 1,894m
Location: In Schladming, just 5 minutes from dasbleibt
Season Start: As soon as snow conditions allow

The famous Planai ski area forms part of the interlinked 4-mountain ski region and is the heart of the Ski Amadé. Annual World Cup races are held here, and you can experience the 4.6 km long FIS downhill run for yourself. The Funslope offers enjoyment away from the race track.

Family Tip: The Hopsi-Express funicular, located right next to the top of the Planai lift station, easily brings beginners, intermediates, pros, and non-skiers to the Winter Wonderland at Märchenwiese. There’s something for everyone, from winter wandering to games and fun.

Ski Area Hauser-Kaibling

Hauser-Kaibling, the highest peak in the 4-mountain ski area, impresses with its panoramic views and two valley runs. Various mountain huts offer classic Austrian delicacies between runs.

Family Tip: A new snow play area for ski and snowboard beginners has been built at the Hauser Kaibling valley station. Wolli’s Kids Park features a drag lift, three magic carpets, and a beginner slope.

Ski Area Hochwurzen

Height: 745m – 1,843m
Location: Schladming Rhormoss

Hochwurzen has something for everyone. Non-skiers can enjoy extensive winter hikes here.

dasbleibt Family Tip: Hochwurzen offers lots of tobogganing fun, day and night. The 7 km long natural toboggan run provides a magical mountain panorama in summer and winter, with mountain huts along the way. Toboggans can be rented on-site. Use of the toboggan run is included in Ski Amadé day and multi-day passes.

Ski Area Reiteralm

Height: 760m – 1,860m
Location: Pichl-Preunegg

Ski enthusiasts love Reiteralm. Ski race teams train here due to the well-maintained slopes and reliable snow.

Family Tip: Kinderland offers child-friendly slopes, a winter playground with a fun tunnel to crawl through, snowball wall, winter characters, and a children’s sled carousel.

Ski Area Fageralm

Height: 930m – 1,885m
Location: Forstau

Fageralm offers a relaxed atmosphere on a sunny plateau. It’s perfect for families with children, with wide natural snow slopes for all levels. It features playful slopes and a speed track.

Ski Area Ramsau am Dachstein

Ramsau Dachstein is a paradise for winter sports enthusiasts and nature lovers alike, with 220 km of cross-country ski trails. It’s one of Europe’s top cross-country skiing areas with reliable snow and sunshine.

Highlight: The “Stairway to Nowhere” at the Dachstein Glacier is a must-see, no other viewpoint in Austria is so often captured on camera!

Our tip for families: On Kali’s adventure slopes, Kali the Ramsauer, the mascot of Ramsau am Dachstein, accompanies the little skiers during their first skiing attempts. On 7 of the total 11 slopes, children are playfully taught how to ski under Kali’s guidance. There is also plenty to discover and experience for more confident skiers and parents too.

At Rittisberg, you can slide without skis: With a total length of 3.51 km, the toboggan run, which can be enjoyed day and night, invites you to race down the mountain. Toboggans are available directly at the starting point of the run.

Ski Area Galsterberg

Galsterberg is ideal for families and all who seek a relaxing spot for winter sports. Those who prefer to explore the winter landscape on foot will find beautiful winter hiking trails at Galsterberg. Allow your breath to be taken away by the panoramic view of the surrounding mountains.

If you still haven’t had enough by nightfall, you can race down the illuminated toboggan run, which boasts a length of more than 5 kilometers.

Tip for families: In the Gallic ski village “Galstiland”, the Romans are on the loose. Here, our little skiers can not only practice their skiing skills but also go wild boar hunting and conquer a Roman watchtower.

Every weekend during Advent, Schladming offers a variety of events and markets to enjoy, so relax and soak up the Christmas atmosphere.

For those looking for peace and quiet, the period from mid-January to the beginning of February is also ideal. After the famous Nightrace in mid-January, the World Cup fever comes to an end and it’s time to relax in Schladming.
